Holman RGB Wi-Fi Garden Light Controller Review: Now With Voice Control

Previously, I reviewed the Holman Garden Spotlight Starter Kit — and I really liked it. The setup was easy, the design was sleek, and it just worked.

But...

There was one feature missing.

One deal-breaking feature.
At least, for anyone who wanted to integrate with their smart home setup or control their outdoor lights with their voice.
(And honestly, who doesn’t want that?)

The Feature That Was Missing

In my previous Holman review, I called it the “next feature I’d add.”

Looks like Holman read it (kidding… sort of), because they went ahead and added it:

Holman has added support for the big three smart speakers. Thanks to the new Wi-Fi-enabled controller, you can now integrate your garden lights with:

• Alexa
• Google Assistant
• Siri (via Apple Shortcuts)

What Does This Change?

Now, in addition to the Holman Home app, you can:

• Control lights with your voice
  • “Alexa, turn on the garden lights.”
  • “OK Google, set the garden lights to red.”
• Integrate them into smart routines
  • E.g. “Movie night” dims the inside lights, turns on the outdoor TV, and lights up the garden.

What Else Has Changed?

Not much — and that’s a good thing.

Each connector only fits one way, so you can’t mess it up.
